Lovely car,I have an oak green 8v,took it out forthe first run in ages yesterday running sweet,pearl grey looks fantastic.

Iv went the orange indicators on mine now, there so much better standard looking

Any updates and pics on her Andy? Finally got mine started, turned out that the ECU had gone! Opened it up and it looked perfect inside though, might be something to look out for on yours if you develop ignition problems! I've also got the mixture adjustment tool if you need to borrow it

Don't know if you've got them fitted to yours but down by the headlights there is an inline three pin connector with rubber shielding not connected up to anything on each side, is yours the same?

There's not much to update on mine really, as I didn't want a project I've had very little to do. I did renew all of the gear linkage as that was pants. The ball on the relay shaft turned out not to be a ball any more, hence the need for replacement!  


I also treated her to a new front grille as the original was so faded

…and replaced the earth strap connected to the bonnet;


I fitted a new stereo and have an amp and component speakers to fit - I feel like a right chav! lol    Just haven't had any time to fit them yet.

I'm not sure about that plug, I don't recall seeing anything but will take a look tomorrow for you

Just spent 5 hours with a bloke just now chatting about cars, completely forgot about discussing the golf  
Literally just this second shook his hand, possibly the latest car sale ever made!

Just bought a mk3 VR6 today aswell so that's taking her spot next to the corrado

No idea but mine was badly corroded at the connectors and just fell apart when i touched it, All lights etc seem to work fine without it though so i'm not too sure.

Guess i spoke to soon with that bloke, He came over today to give me the £1300 as agreed, tried haggling me down to 1k and when i refused as we already made the deal he didn't want the car anymore, of course at that point as i thought the car was going i bought the VR6 and that got nowhere to stay  

Will make a thread for it in abit though, your new grill makes a world of difference!

Did you get the earth strap from eBay?

No earth strap was from main stealer, didn't think it was priced to bad. It's amazing how flexible a new one is compared to the old brittle one!
