I've seen these but are they really worth it?

I've been a bit slow updating this but the Wind Deflector arrived in about four days from Bodi.
I must say the English translation of the fitting instructions is a bit iffy but it's not hard to work it out either!
This is the 'Bodi XL', excellent build quality and does what is promises to do.
I paid 145 Euros posted (I think) they sent it DHL and worth every Cent.
Being the XL it covers the rear seat as well, so it stops all the leaves and rubbish from dropping into the back of the car. A real bonus I think!  :ocf_emoticons__eusa_clap:

Looks very sporty and I've had a number of comments from people.
Not the best pics but you'll get the idea.

They are cheaper ones out there but I wouldn't have one if they gave one to me.
The 'Bodi XL' is high quality and you will not be disappointed!

This looks a great peice of kit.

When fitting are there any permanent fittings that you have to make incase at a later date it needs to be removed leaving everythig in tact as it should be?

Wouldnt want to cause any irreversable damage.

OK lets see if I can explain this in a way that makes sense.

Once you know how to fit it, you can remove the whole thing in under 30 seconds (comes with a storage bag for storing at home)
You will have left two bungey like connectors that simply connect to the bottom arms of the two front seats.
They can be left there and do not get in the way of passengers getting in or out of the back.
If you want to remove them as well, add 20 seconds.
Or
You can drop the vertical section buy releasing the two chrome poppers on the roll bar (see pic I posted).
Unclip the two bungey clips mentioned above.
Roll that part down and slide the whole back seat section back towards the boot to have full access to the rear seat area.

Another big bonus point is when the XL is fitted it's really hard to see what if anything is behind the front seats or on the rear seats. Now I have a 'Toad' alarm fitted with 'Microwave' sensors, if I just close the windows but leave the top down it becomes extremely difficult to nick something.
Not saying totally impossible but every time I've tried all Hell has broke lose!

Before anyone asks, no I don't work for the company who makes them.
Nor have I had any contact with them other than the standard purchase through eBay.
No discount, commission, no nothing!

If you get one it will make sense i'm sure.

BTW
Took the Wife to IKEA, no wind and over 30 degrees.
Looked at what she wants.
Took her for a really nice lunch.
But she still hates my Golf Mk1 Cabby.

Only one option left I'm afraid.
Q. Either she goes or the Car?
A. God I'm going to miss her!

Well, we've been on a test drive for 20 years.
Married one year.

So, I got the wrong Model, it does happen you know!

I was reading this thread a couple of weeks back and I took the plunge and ordered the XL version. Superb bit of kit, and looks great too. Think I placed the order on a Saturday and it was delivered the following Wednesday. The instructions aren't the best of translations, although quite amusing! Its pretty straight forward to fit, so no major problems. Definitely a worthwhile purchase.

I saw that one on eBay too, but was kinda put off by the fact that they say that the picture is for "illustration purposes only", so that although it looks like the XL it could really be anything!  It may be fine, but in the end I decided just to bite the bullet and order from the German company.

buy cheap and pay twice is often the case, i think you could be right, thats why i wondered if anyone had bought one and if they were happy with quality etc

Funnily enough when I saw it I almost posted to ask if anyone had bought one. Then after reading the comments on here about people saying they've had the Bodi versions for years and they're still gong strong I figured it was probably just worth paying the extra for something which seems proven. I guess you could ask them if they have any actual pictures of their version, could be similar.

Good for you mate and to be honest I'm normally a little reluctant at recommending stuff but I thought this was well worth a mention!

Hi richy,

The link you posted above, well I looked at it as well.
I'm fairly sure it's not the same, that's one of the reasons I went directly to 'Bodi' in Germany.

OK they might cost a little more but you've got the qaulity and most importantly there's no middlemen. You know, well he said, she said, they said…

The buck stops with them (the maker) and on top of that you still have eBay and PayPal protection!

I brought the M-wind deflector, slightly cheaper than the XL and I can still keep the child seat in the car with the screen in place, place shopping etc on the back seat. Been using it for 9 years now.
works great, you can drive at motorway speeds with the roof down no problem.
