1980 vw cabrio

As well as a really nice car, must be quite rare special order, unless changed for 1981 model year cars , as here is the brochure  I used to drool over in 1980. Good luck with the interior.

Well had problems with auto box so havn't been using it alot.

Mot booked for monday then s/hand box in a few weeks

Failed…………………..number plate bulb, n/s aim to high, o/s beam pattern and n/s/f shock weaking

So not to bad should have the lowered and uprated shocks in the next few days that I bought 2 weeks ago so retest early next year as going away this weekend.

Well didn't get it retested as box lost drive. Fitted s/hand auto box on Thursday and front shocks just need to fit rears on Wednesday then mot booked for Thursday. 
So back on the road for agm weekend 

Try and see if the lower rear shocker bolts are free, 9 times out of 10 they rust in solid and end up having to be hacksawed out.

Then you will have time to source replacements if needed for Wednesday and not miss MOT.

I can't see if the bolts are seized until Wednesday as away on holiday.
The rear shocks are still ok so shouldn't fail mot

Fitted the rear shocks on Wednesday evening, washed it and mot'd it on Thursday but failed again took 15 mins to sort. So back on the road. 

Great news on the MOT hope mine is as positive.
