Oh that sucks! TBH though there's a lot of car specialists who move away from older cars and sticker to more recent models, I guess they're more 'plug and play?'

Have you searched Bosch's web site for a local specialist, you never know you may find someone who can help

…try these guys too - Bosch K-Jetronic

They sell K-Jet parts so they may be able to offer advice too?

Let us know how you get on ;)

Thanks for the link hairyarse.
I have come up with a theory. Before changing the accumulator it ran if a little rough. I wonder if the diaphragm and spring are stronger and it's restricting to pressure of fuel to the meter head.
therefore there's not enough pressure to get through the metering head. My understanding is that the return line valve should lift with pump continuously running the the meter head flap at rest.
i don't get anything on the return line.
Im going to test the voltage to the pump and check for restrictions. I know the prevoius owner replaced the pump and lines but I need to go back to basics I guess.
does that sound feasible?

I think so, just trying to get my head around it although thinking if accumulator stock and all else as it should be you wouldn't think there'd be a problem.

Sound like pump is the area to be checking though

Not good to hear about Stealth, although you can understand why they are doing that with the age of the cars now.

You could try Midland VW at Norton Canes near Cannock. Jody (Owner) knows his k-Jet inside out.
