Jellybelly,

How about embroidered badges?
(no don't laugh)

Top quality of course, club logo (2 Models)
Maybe 2 or 3 different shapes and sizes
Black on white and the new website colour blue on white

You have the artwork already
Inexpensive to produce
Cheaper than chips to post Worldwide

And it's the thought and it's an item that most club fans can afford and make good use of!

It's just a thought.

20 years ago when I got me mother to sew them onto my denim jacket I would have agreed with you but I am not sure there is a demand for them nowadays mate?

No offence and I am not knocking you for posting the idea up and I could be miles off the mark but is there a massive demand for embroidered badges.?

If there is I tip my cap to you sir.

You were lucky smudger, I had to sow the darn things on myself.  :ocf_emoticons__BangHead:.
To be honest I have an alternative motive for the idea.
I've been trying to get us to do some top quality polo shirts, along the lines that racing teams have but not over the top if you know what I mean.
I've posted the suggestion several times.

So I thought if I could get my hands on embroidered club badges I could have my own made up.

I can get my hands on official VW, BBS, Karmann badges etc… without to much difficulty but ours?

Call it, 'work in progress'.   O_o.
And no offense taken Sir .

Nice idea Mike, stick some pics up when JB gets them sent through to you. A bespoke MK1 polo shirt could be the next big thing  ;)

Now there's an idea.

How expensive would these be to make JB? Could offer them with option of MK1 owners club emblem etc or their own MK1 pictured

Oh no it doesnt, it looks like a bay!!!  (JK for all you bay lovers out there).

I was liking an earlier suggestion of race shirt/pit crew type shirt.

Shirts with plenty of logos/badges on them, a proper shirt rather than a polo, straight cut at the bottom so looks right to hang over jeans or shorts. Perhaps a cooler option for the summer if the cotton isnt too heavy.

Perhaps some of the forum sponsors may be interested in getting their logo on?

Perhaps make the MK1 OC stand out from the crowd rather than the usual polo/hoody club route?

Perhaps with a large logo on the rear, or large number, the year the first Golf went into production?

Anyway, you get the idea, would cost that bit more but would look real class if done right.

Just my opinion.

The issue with the pits style thing is this,

Each embeiodered logo has a set up cost of £30 ish, also the larger the logo to more it cost to put on its all on the number of stiches.

Not a bad idea guys but would simply cost far to much

OK, fair comment.

How about looking for a decent shirt then, pre-made pit style or hot rod type style and just have the MK1OC logo stitched onto it somewhere?

Perhaps have a limited amount done and purchase them on a group buy prior to having logo stitched on?

Personally I wouldn't mind paying that little bit extra.

As an example…..

or

http://www.stellarapparel.com/store/racing-pit-crew-blank-shirts,category.asp

Then have our logo applied?

Shirts used as an example, I'm sure there are plenty of others out there.

Just a thought mate, dont want to upset anyone or rock the boat.

Well, these are the kind of shirts I've been talking about for sometime.

This guy has different sizes and costs about the same.

Nearly bought two of these last week but the seller was only offering $4.00 discount of the posting for two, so I held off.
And this is why I was asking about embroidered club badges. I was thinking of putting one 3 or 4 inches wide, across the center of the shoulders.

Ok, I'm no graphic artist but just to give you an idea.

I think I will buy two of these just for the hell of it. I've found a nice BBS badge but the Karmann one I've found just is not good enough but I'll keep looking!
For the breast pockets I think, totally OTT but what the heck..
