Managed to get a bit more done in the back.

I wasn't happy with the covered board, but if a rush job. So I've ties something else..

Stripped.

Getting there, still needs finishing off.

Sorting out some new anchors..

And been replacing some sad engine bits.

MERRY CHRISTMAS! 🎁🎅🎄

Little update..

Finally finished the rear.

Also treated the ol' girl to a little race cell, works really.

Gonna run all relevant cables inside the body, and pop out tight in the bottom corner. Left a little gap behind the battery for the drivers side rear light.

Freshened up the head lights..

Whilst doing the inside I've stared tarting up the bay, im aiming for a happy medium between form and function. I want all the dials/electrics/heater working but I want it to look tidy..

Not going too mad, but I'll weld up holes and loose all the hangers and guff..

Looking much tidier - a clean bay makes such a difference to a car I think

 Definitely!

It's not going to be a show winner, just cleaner. Still want everything to work, so there's gonna be wires all over the place..

Slipped in a little go faster hole in the scuttle, makes the most of the bonnet scoop and feed nice cold air to the carbs..

Who need cross flow heads.?

Right, had a bit of an up and down couple of months..

Managed to get the engine tidied up a bit, top fill, new oil cooler, lines, filter, alternator, fan, water pump, pulley and all new coolant pipes.

Went from this..

Thru..

To this..

Won't win any prizes, but I'm no wholly ashamed of it..

Had a mare with a brake upgrade.

Bought a "pair" off 280 calipers and carriers off a guy call mast688 on here, only to find one was a  smaller 250sumat, he's not returning my emails now..
Luckily found an old mk3 GTI down the scrappy that had the right gear.

Makes wonder why I didn't go there in the first place.?

Then these crappy adapters weren't playing well together.

Took an angle grinder to them, problem sorted.

So thought touch up some bits of paint work, with the wrong colour. 😩

It turns out there's four different shades of irish green, and everytime I went the paint shop a different guy mixed a different shade.

Dashs' in.

Rears all trimmed.

managed to get her to the garage, for a full tank.

But she's developed a misfire! 😩

Anyone have any ideas?

In other news, there's a new member to the family..

A 1972 type3 rustback..

When she's done?!
