Best yet! Well chuffed..
But if spit and polish and she should come up a goodun'
However..
Still wrong. So, another ltr purchased, painting should be finished this weekend. 😁
So I thought I'd offer up my life changing Vortex back box http://www.vortex-performance-exhausts.co.uk/flash/enginedemo promising promising performance gains, fuels consumption reductions and lasting longer in bed I'm expecting big things! 😉
Internal shot.
A little video, no back box.

Going to have to see if there's any real performance improvements when she's back on the ground

I used this stuff http://bit.ly/1oDrtkx not cheap but works pretty well.
Been a slow couple of weeks. Dropped the rear bumper, needs painting again. 😔
Scratched an arch when I fitted the exhaust. 😔
To add insult to injury the bell end I share the unit with, twisted the exhaust down, and knock a wing off, so that needs re painting. 😔
But I've ordered tyres, and decided to gloss the centers. Vw burnt orange.
Made up my clocks too. ☺️

First off was wet sanding..
Since ballbags dropped my wing it needed painting again, so before had tried a sand a polish..
Before
During
After.
Chuffed with that, however it just as well it's getting painted again.
Paint burnt like a meth head and his pipe..
Second was building up the spilts.
It ain't pretty, they need a good clean.
But if they hold air and balance I'll be a happy lad..
Story of my week.

Warm dry conditions, lead to this.
Much happier.
Then the re build could start.
Back end built and wired in.
An after a last minute, 160mile, round trip to kent on Saturday morning to pick my re tapped adapters up.
BOOM! Home for a clean for dubs at the park.
Well chuffed. Handling needs a bit of a tweet. 😁
But overall not bad..
Here she is.

Got a little package..
Finally got my waist and sil trims, they can in black so had to give them a quick lick of paint to tie them in..
Please ignore the filth the poor girls covered in. It's a dusty farm unit and I refuse to wipe it off, jet wash only to avoid swirls..
Also a period window decal, to sort out the lack of features on the rear end..
Also a little light reading for a sunny evening..

Picked up some old school recaro fishnets, gonna get retrimmed at some point, but for a £100- I couldn't complain.
Thinking either a nice grey tweed.
Or maybe use the original grey material and leather, similar to these.
They're going to be quite interesting to fit! Lol..

Time to get these bad boys in!
Started with some back yard butchery..
The old seat base was easy I get off, and the forward backward mechanism was straight and flat, a good base to work off..
Offered up and tack welded..
..
Skip throughs the boring stuff.
Finished and painted!
Test fit.
Full back and full low..
Full forward and top hight.
Perfect! 😎
Just have to find a good trimming companies now..
Anyone?

Just fitted new carpets and door cards, no pics yet.
Got a headliner ready for fitting, but I'm going to book that in with a pro.

Retro goodness..
Turbo technics 1984 conversion, on 1.8 8v PB.

Original un used boost gauge.
Original badges..
That's all the clean bits, I'll get some greasy shots when I get it down the unit and all unpacked..

Glad the turbo technics kit has gone to a good home. I will watch with envy your rebuild of it.
Good luck.
ITs going to be a slow burner, but I'm excited all the same.
I tried emailing Turbo Techincs with the serial number to see if they had any history they could send out but I haven't heard back.
I've also found a guy just down the road that does hydro/sonic cleaning to get the parts up to scratch. ☺️
