dude you can still do projects any good woman should respect theyre mans interessts and should not stop them from doing so hell but your choice im lookin forward to seeing this project develope do you have a thread for it?

When was the first series 2 produced? August 1980?
My golf was made on the 12th of July and left the factory on the 15th. It has the original rear panel and all the other various s1 bits.
If you ask me. That makes it a series 1

In short, that S1 is probably real - a quick snap of the chassis number will prove that!

It has a 10 digit vin number and a series 1 vin plate. Not sure about the strut top and can't check either because it is away at the paint place.
I think my car was registered in October.

I owned it for 4 and a half years from 78 to 83.
It was imported to the UK in 1980, hence the W plate.
