What's the one thing you regret selling the most?
Maybe not because of value, although that often is a good reason.
It can be anything, car or bike, a picture. Just something that from the moment you parted with it you said to yourself, heck that was a mistake!
You might have been young and naïve or just not thinking to straight.
To be honest I've been guilty of both all to often but hindsight!
My story is of my first Motorbike.
I was 8 at the time (+40 years older now).
My Dad found for me a Suzuki 80cc (sport, circa 1965) for sale in the next Village from us for 25 pound (seemed like a lot at the time).
Always wanted a bike, didn't really care what it was as long as it would go!
This is a stock picture.
Brought the bike home and got it running. Dark metallic red, burgundy more like.
Learnt how to fall off and sometimes even to ride it.
Sold it about four years later (35 pound) but before that I'd taught myself (with my Dad's help) a lot, many times the hard way.
Moved on to a Suzuki TS 125 which I paid for having worked my butt off for my Dad.
15 years later I was invited round to my Fiancées house for Sunday lunch (it was summer time and NO it didn't work out between us).
As I was waiting for lunch I took a walk around the garden (it was fairly big). As I walked past the garden shed I saw something covered up with old plastic fertilizer bags.
Had to have a l@@k didn't I.
Low and behold it was another Suzuki 80cc Sport, not mine though.
I thought daffodil I don't believe it as there were not that many imported into Europe. I heard later around 265 but I've never checked.
I asked my future Father in law about the bike and he said, Oh I've had it for about 20 years (I get on it sometimes and just ride around the garden) but I'd like to get rid of it.
It looked in fairly good nick and as I new just about everything about the bike I asked him if he would sell it to me?
To which he replied, "Mike, just take it away".
Never got round to it and my relationship ended about 6 months later!
lessons learned.
Don't ever make the same mistake twice.
Never ever look at gift horse in the mouth.
40 years on and from time to time I still think about what a plonker I was.
For the Girl or bike, you can decide!
But I still have my Honda Monkey built 1973 (80cc, semi-automatic)
It's only done 3.5K officially from new. Car and bike will go to my Son!
Love to get some sort of carrier so that I can hang it on the back of my Cabby.
So what's your story? :tlc:
Mike.

I regret selling my gorgeous bike. I bought it brand new in '98, S reg.
i had it up until about 4 years ago.
I have nerve and muscle damage in my right arm, which has deteriorated slowly over time. It got to the point where I couldnt ride for more than a few minutes without extreme pain… I couldnt bear the though of keep looking at it staring at me in the garage every day…
A mate bought it off me, but he cant ride for toffee, so sold it onto someone else I knew. He still has it, and can ride quite well.
Sunny days, whether cold or warm are horrid without a bike to blitz about on, hence buying the cabrio to enjoy some sort of freedom driving!
I did have a Bandit with straight bars for a few months, but the arm is so knackered I couldnt manage that either.
So I miss my bike terribly, and having to admit I cant ride anymore is soul destroying.
I miss not doing track days either. you cant get your knee down in a cab…
Thank goodness for my cheeky cabrio, which makes me smile when I drive it.
 :cheer:

I'm the same, still got everything. You never know when you'll need them, even if it's just to get on the back of one.

profesional body restoration, 16v conversion, was a very very tidy solid car, i was crying like a child when it drove away
sold it in 2003 way too cheap to pay the solicotors fees when buying my house,
as a kick in the balls i later found out as i was buying on a council estate i was exempt from stamp duty so i could have kept it.
sold it for £1350 :-(

Turned out to be a complete Li150 stashed in his chicken shed with all the bits still in tact, keys lights mirrors the lot but my Dad wouldn't fetch it for me so I walked to this farm and pushed it home which was about 6 miles, rode it down hill but that wasn't far, took me till 9pm (from about 9am) to get it back exhausted I was (I was 14) slashed it down with rain most of the day but I was determined although it was 5 times the weight of me, knew I was on to a good earner because Quadrophenia had just been released at the time.
Ended up getting the SX running and sold it for a massive tenner, rode the Li for about a year on the field and then had it nicked and found it in the canal a few months later so left it there.
This is the reason I became a Plumber and not a bike/scooter dealer.. these things are now worth thousands each!
