D90 s

Guys I need to know fast if there is a certain size of Porsche d90 you should avoid ?
I'm looking at some 17" will these be ok they are six inch wide

Im no expert but I thought 16's were the D90 size for the Golf, I have never read or seen anyone with 17's ??

Ok they are being advertised as 17" and they arnt the only set saying 17" ?

What I mean is I think the D90's that fit on the Golf are 16's not 17's

There are 16" D90's on eBay just now

The blokes obviously mistaken, what do you know of d90s
Should I get staggered ie 6s on the front and eights on the back ?

Also as I understand, I will need 4x100 - 5 x 130 vag to Porsche adapters. If so aluminium or steel ?

If your not sure, who is the wheel man on here ?

I think from memory that most are 6j on the front and 8j on the rears

Put D90 into the search and you will get all the threads with D90 in them,

As for the adapters I'm not sure.

And yes they are 17" x 6 j all round

17s just look silly on a mk1, well some designs look ok ish

As you wish, I find expression is personal and like my wheels as I like them. I personaly think that 17" is the limit for a mk1.
I also get offered cash for this car almost every time it's out.

I personally think small wheels don't look cool and look lost in the arches ? But hey, if we were all the same, would it not be a boring place ?

The way i look at it, vw prob spent millions designing there cars so best not mess with perfection ;-)

True, but as a Designer myself, I believe that "perfection" is an ever evolving state. One which should be challenged at every opportunity so as not to become stale and old fashioned as classic and old fashioned tread a fine line.

It is a good job we are all different, now i dont have a problem with any dia wheel fitted to the golf, but i do have a problem with wider wheels being fitted on the rear of a front wheel drive car, pointless to me.

Ha, actually turns out after all that. my wheels are sixteen inch and so are the new ones as I have been measuring them wrong. Wot a larf !
