Managed a fair amount of work today. I'll let the pics do the talking
Welding finally completed now and engine mount in place.
I've painted it now so it looks a lot cleaner
Some cutting to the front to make the intercooler sit flush to save room……….
Inter-cooler waiting to be fitted next week…..
New bushes finally fitted to rear beam. The outer clamps are a total nightmare to get together….
New Manifold……..
Engine pretty much back together.
Wishbones with 100mm hubs attached…..
And then the Wilwoods went on….
New GTI tank…..
And finally, new lower strut brace made to accommodate 02a gearbox.
More next week. I'm off for a beer. Thanks to JonP again for his invaluable assistance

Edit:- Forgot to add how Fookin difficult some of these things were to fit. The bushes in particular and clamps to rear beam were a nightmare as were the front ARB bushes. Also the manifold. Virtually no room to get in to tighten the bolts

I think breaking his arms might be the next plan, that way all the tricky parts that took ages to fit, won't need to be removed!

Well a truly crap day working on the car today. Anything that could go wrong, did !!
First off I bagged a KO4 turbo the other day with Relentless manifold and Genesis green injectors amongst other things so set about fitting them all up. Got as far as the manifold and when tightening one of the bolts this happened……
So thats got to come out and a new one go in its place.
Then finished off fitting one side of the wilwoods and new wishbones and Goodridge hoses.
Trial fitted a 15" Estoril alloy and it rubs on the caliper. We tried a BBS and again it rubbed so we thing it is down to the ET of the wheel?? Any wheels experts out there??
One good thing was that we managed to fit the servo upgrade with new master cylinder and fluid reservoir.
Shots of manifold and KO4…..
Then fitted the injectors which was straight forward……..
So on the look out for a complete KO4 set of oil and water lines (4 in total). PM me if you have some to sell. This because there was a generic set of lines and attachments which are totally unsuitable.
