1.1 Formel E Restoration

Hopefully next week!

We were set back by the weather earlier this week but it hit 7 degrees yesterday so it was as warm as it was going to get.

I should have it back in a couple of months - welded and with a shiny new coat of Pargas Blau!

In the meantime I can take the engine apart and renew anything that has perished or would benefit from an update. Dad removed the gearbox to find a new clutch which is one less thing to do!

Then it can be cleaned and sprayed and popped back in

Had a long chat with the bloke whose doing the bodywork and respray today and agreed on my final quote…

I will die before I sell this car, so it's worth it!

I should have it back at the end of Jan/ beginning of Feb and then everything will get put back in and I should be on the road by my birthday (24th Feb!).

Nice car Moo. Yeah, not cheap this restoration business :?  But worth every penny once completed 8)

Wowweeee another pargus blue mk1 1.1   i have the same colour and im in love with it. Needs paint work done too tbh. Great job tho!! Also yes they are suppose to b single headlamps =]

Are you planning on repainting a different colour?

The rust in the door doesn't look to hard to fix and the door looks really good besides that piece so i would just cut that bit out and repair that door.

Keep up the nice work

It's staying the same colour as I really like it and also because I don't have the funds to completely change it anyway!

No more pics as yet. I'm waiting for the body shop to email me all the pictures he took whilst doing the work.

Hopefully I can crack on with some work on it this weekend - could really do with a jig though!

Smashing colour m00. I bet you're delighted with the results. Now all you have to do is put it back together

It feels like the tip of the iceberg! Giving it to someone else to weld and spray was easy, now it's all on me  

There's something quite theraputic though mate about rebuilding things
