Show me your Engine bay
Hey Guys,
i currently have the engine out of my 1800 GTi and am in the process of an engine bay tidy up. I was hoping i could get a few of you to upload pics of your engine bay to give me a few ideas on how i can tidy it up. im looking to try and declutter a bit.
anyone switched their brake servo for a modern, smaller unit?
Cheers in advance guys.

I took mine apart whilst having it rebuilt.
Cleaned all parts thoroughly, then got to work with the primer and hammerite.
All the nuts and bolts were zinc plated but maybe I went a bit too far!?
Doesn't take that much time once you've got all the parts off and ready to be painted.
Tidied it all up with cable ties and a bit or re-routing here and there…
Get stuck in…it's well worth the effort in the end (especially as you've got your engine out already)

Servo removed and running bias pedal box instead!!
Speeding is like masturbation, everyone does it ,but it's not something you should record and put on the internet!!

Collo, I've done the same but still waiting to get the car back. What is the brake pressure required and what is it feedback/drive like without servo?

looking goooood russ!!!
here's mine, not as good as russ' but not too shabby..
you'll be amazed how good you can make the bay look, without spending a load of cash - just loads of time!!
a few paints, shed loads of de-greaser, and a whole load of elbow grease!!
unfortunately, there is not a lot you can relocate, but you can tidy it up a bit..

rsdub - This engine bay looks class - top work on your bay!
I have recently changed my clutch cable, decided to put in a genuine mk1 diesel one. Its routed behind the manifold and slots in nice and handy into that nylon bracket thingy attached onto the master cyl. Anybody ever use a diesel cable?
One other thing… what is the yellow sticker on the rocker cover?

WOW! Some stunning engine bays. 8)
Here's one pre-clean up (not took any after cleaning :redfaced: ).
Lots of work to do over the winter months.
When I look at the pipe that goes from the expansion bottle to the top of the radiator, the black braded with red cross hatch, is this likey to be original (and most likely perished under the brading)
If original, can you still buy the exact same hose?
Here's one of my previous efforts……
