How would you feel if one of the conditions of free road tax was that you could only drive to-from official events?

If there was just one petition that kept re-appearing then we might get enough people signing it, but with numerous separate ones, none will ever reach the 100,000 mark and it'll never show the true amount of people that support the idea because they're all spread out amongst them.

So, lets assume they're going to adjust taxes higher for some other area of motoring - where would you like them to increase it? Higher tax on fuel? Tolls on roads?

The problem is, the government won't simply let their funds be lowered, by a kind-hearted act of generosity to people who run older cars. If they did….where would you suggest the cuts come from? Less health care? Somewhere else?

Can come from not pampering Prisoners, make Amazon UK pay tax, stop paying for stupid items like the Dome, you really think not paying tax for cars over 30 years is going to effect Health Care, I suggest you look at what UK money is being wasted on and who collectively dont pay billions of tax each year because they know every loop hole!!!
Now, how many cars are that are over 30/35 years old ?
The petition is never going to happen, even thou i sign every one, its the worms that pay for the birds food….

PS to others on here lets not get into a debate about where the government spend/lose money cos to be fair we will never know the real truth (if we did what would we do to be fair) there all lying gits and the media are too, lets face it they all lie, they all waste money, they all spend money, they all get bonuses, they all claim stupid tax back and we are all up that certain creek without a paddle nowt will change because of there lie's (hard to swallow yes but its all corrupt).
Satans creation was just trying to help

I sign them all but come on do you really see it happening.
They aint going to give up the millions they earn from it and if they did they would have to put the price of other stuff up to composite it, so we wouldnt win.
The goverment wouldnt have to do anything even if EVERY person who owned a car old enough signed it.

But if you dont ask you don't get
Probably won't accept 30 year rolling exemption but if they extend the original exemption year to say 1980. That's still progress, the idea is just to get pm's talking about this issue.
I mean come on history did not suddenly end in 1972 did it?

No ones having a dig at you fella Just letting you know that it's been a regular thing to pop up on here.
Some people still believe that the 25 year rolling exemption still exists I had a policeman tell me my mk1 was tax exempt once
