owned the car for 2 years and manually moved
the hood and it worked fine up and down
next thing im gunna try is removing the
struts and seeing if one goes up faster
than the other, i hope and think its just a
bleed problem, as the motor starts to sound
like its under a lot of pressure possibly
starting to struggle ?

Is everything bolted down properly?
Remember the 2 rams are bolted onto plates on the side rear quarters.
What was wrong with the old setup?
Have you followed the proceedure on bleeding the air and checked the fluid level is okay. You must do this with the top in the fully lowered position.

i will oil all the joints and make sure nothings loose!
The origonal problem was the pump reservoir car had been
smashed off so id bought a new motor and rams cheap!
and yeah i followed the steps, as i didnt know what i was doing
the first time, how many times do you need to move the hood up
and down to bleed it properly ?

Have you checked the state of the pump prior to instalation?
My pump is quite noisy and I will need to take it out at some point and overhaul it.
Mine opens okay and then half way opening it jolts.
So I need to se if something is pinching.
But it may just be how they are.
It closes fine and the pump noise increases at it reaches full open/close stages, so I just let go the switch.
I haven't another to compare it too.
