Gammy, I'll do an insurance check on your car and see how that turns out.
To be honest I'm swaying towards keeping the cabby. Ive done no mechanical work to it and it's done 8000 Miles since march and not let me down once
I'm gonna test drive a few tintops see if there's a way I can have both :wink:

adrian flux insuers me and i was only 18 when i first got mine and it was quite resonable at 700quid still alot of money but for wot you get i had a 1.8 8vavle gti tin top

They just emailed me a quote of £380 which isn't too bad maybe I can get it down over the phone

try herts insurance i used them in the past and were brill
having owned (gtis) both its difficult to say which i like better the best tin top is probably a better drivers car but the cab is more fun

I didn't know that! but I'm learning lots on here. Were the shells built on the VW line then shipped to Karmann for the mods? I've had my Cabby for a year or so and slowly getting to know it. I'm old enough to remember them as new cars, back then I thought they were interesting and a bit special.
I insure mine and a couple of other cars on one policy with RH specialist insurance, very good prices and recovery included, well worth a try,
