77 lhd green mk1

hay,
going getting stuck into this in the next few weeks.
shes pretty bad but i think crazy quiffs have the scuttle bay panel .thats the biggest problem.

looking to now peoples views on this .its left hand drive,should i leave it or make it right hand drive?

how the hell do i put pics up ?
anyone able to put them up or have a step by step
guide to do it?

The newbie section is near the top of the list of sections, not far above this one. The topic about pic posting will be near the top there.

no i cant weld to save my life but i now a man that can.

ya the one in the back is in better shape ,its a 1980 series 2 big light inca silver.shell be done after the 77.
i have the chrome bumpers,series 1 gti steering wheel,chrome door handles,wing mirrors and 1/4 opening windows and la few other goodies hidden away for the 77 so im going to do her first.

will have lights in the shed at the weekend so ill get cracking at it then.

The only reason is because I reckon after I spend a s** h load of time and mula on it it won't be worth as much as a rhd,not that I'm doing it to sell it but if I ever had to.

Am I wright or wrong.

Maybe I'll put up a tread and see what the general vw mk1 public think.

I don't think there will be any price difference if it was RHD to be honest. I would say it will be even cooler if it was LHD. But it is up to you.

Ill be pulling up a seat for this one my friend. Welcome to the site too. Everything looks very nice and original.  

In terms of LHD to be honest its a difficult one. I was contemplating buying a LHD german import that was registered in the U.K and still had both german and UK plates. Looked cool!

In terms of insurance get yourself some classic insurance. they deal with a lot of foreign cars so it doesn't matter too much.

In terms of value i saw a 5dr LHD one very similar to this actually,sell for 5k.

For peace of mind give the insurance company a phone.

I didn't. Think  of the insurance ,I'll give them a bell tomorrow.

I'll see what they say and make my mind up then,it would save a shed load of work and cash.

Keep it original LHD, even if one day you sell it you may have interest from Germany etc.  

I've had two LHD mk1's and they sold without any problems to UK buyers.. Oh how I regret selling my US Spec rabbit sport truck (caddy).
