Love it! The main inspiration for chopping in my '64 bug and decade long air cooled obsession. I now have my own Florida blue 4 door

Look forward to seeing it complete. 8)

That looks amazing mate, friend of mine had a small light MK1 in that colour about 22 years ago, we called it 'toilet blue!'

Love the colour, and those wheels look spot on with it ;)

Managed to get a few jobs done this weekend. Had to change plans a little, having a clear rear window made with no heater element so was going to fit that but wasn't ready to be collected  so i dug some bits out.

All in need of a colour change

Then moved onto the door cards

Used halfords vinyl spray paint ,great stuff was easyer to use than the last time when i sprayed a full mk1 headlining while still fitted into the car

more daylight shots

Thats it for now, hopefully i'll get the rear screen this week

i really LOVE this mk1, surely its a shame to colour those brown doorcards though? i thought they would be pretty rare as the black ones seem to be common?

Very nice car, the brown interior would of been nice, but liking the black as well.

Loving this build thread even more every time you update man :) I also wondered about the brown doorcards being rarer than the black?

Lurvely. I could do with a set of those stands to spin the shell over. Did you make them?

As much advice on restoring a Series 1 as possible please

Is that Vinyl spray worth a look? My door cards are good condition but the leather has started to fade a little, a bit like pair of shoes that need polishing.

Would this work?

Love the car mate, If I had the money, I'd respray my car that colour.

Hi Alfie think it would do a great job on your door cards  if i'm ever thankfull for Halfords selling one thing this is the stuff , sprays on well ,leaves a good shine and finish , doesn't peel off  It's the nuts
