MK1 Golf Chrome Bumper - UPDATE 09/09/11

Hi Folks,

I am close to finishing the replica bumpers and have had a set made.  Personally I am really pleased them and wanted to share.

Today I test fitted the rubbers and the end caps.  It seems I have misjudged the position of the holes that accept the end caps.  They need to be moved by about 5mm.  

Also I have somehow missed out a coach bolt hole under the bumper.  I will fix these little issues next week and have a new set made.

A gent from this site is helping me out by loaning me a bumper bracket.  I will be able to reproduce this in a matter of days and hopefully have a working set of bumpers by the end of the week.

Many thanks for foxymk1 for loaning my the bracket.  Should receive this next Monday.

It is possible.  I know it is taking a long time but they have to be right!

I should have some pricing by the end of next week.

On the pricing, all I know is that they will be cheaper than other suppliers!

I will sell them in sets as bare metal and as chrome.  That way buyers have the choice to coat them in anyway and any colour they want.

The kits will include -

4 x Bumper Brackets
2 x Bumpers (Front/Rear)
8 x Coach Bolts & Nuts

Personally I am really pleased with the way they have come out.  I have had the rubber cover strips delivered this morning so I iwll test fit those.

Yep, I'd be interested in these too, whats the chance you you do just the front one with 2 brackets and 4 coach bolts/nuts? It's for a mk1 caddy.

I'd be interested in a price for a pair of bare bumpers… I have all the other bits.

Really want to go black, like the S1 Gti, but can't paint over my chrome - that would be just wrong!

Also interested a plain black set mate. Let me know when you a pair and pricing.
