COTM-why always tintop winners?

Dangerous topic probably but why do tintops always win car of the month?

I know cabs have one but recently at least it has been tins.

Even before voting started this month I knew that the tintop would win regardless of whether it is or isn't the best car!

As I am not into the whole history of what is or isn't a real mk1 or whether cabs are for hairdressers or not I will probably get shot down in flames ?

So why do they always win ?

i have a 1980 cabby is that not classed as a proper mk1….it has the same floor plan ?

I think it has something to do with the number of votes that are cast !!

Does this mean the gti hatchback aint a proper mk1 either?

After all it didnt launch untill a few years into the mk1s life.

….. i have a MK1 Jetta… same floor pan too, but not welcome on here !!

I think theres just more tintop fans on here compared to cabby fans.

Ive also noticed that there are a lot of tintop owners on here that will only stick to them compared to cabby owners who like both.

This I noticed at the AGM aswell.

Well I agree with the people who made them. Volkwagen. They say there all Mk1's. They should know. Who are we to argue with the maker!

i'd just like to say thank you to those who voted for my mk1 to be car of the month, regardless of whether its a tin top or cabby we are all on the same forum because we all like mk1's, as for tintop owners only sticking with tintops and not cabbys thats wrong, i've owned 6 tintops and 3 cabbys, i currently own my helios campaign but would go back to a cabby any day, in fact i've got my eyes on an L reg rivage and in negotiations with the owner
