Very impressive and interesting work there Mr Skulls   Your fabrication skills are what i'm aiming towards :)

Whats the spec's on the 8v?

Also I have a welding based question for you if you don't mind?

I have switched from a rubbish hobby mig, with the useless tiny gas bottles a while ago, to a nice Murex set and a 10L gas bottle. Sooo much better, anyway I notice that when I get down to about 50psi left in the bottle, the welds start to suffer, i'm guessing the flow of gas from the bottle isn't as good due to the lower pressure?

When do you change/refill the bottle, in terms of pressure left?

Thanks,

Pete :D

redpetemk1 not really sure what psi my bottle drops to before I change it mate but I would have thought it would still be ok at 50psi as you only need 4-5psi at the nozzle, you may have some other restriction that occurs as the pressure drops

Nice!!! Very impressive! Always good to see people still using 8v power

Thanks also for the info on the gas flow at the nozzle, yeah it happened when I was welding with the torch and quite a bit higher than the set, so may have been restricting the wire feed.
