Well strike over and back from afghan… So i thought i might aswell update this project a bit…





New roof on… And now the roof does not start to lift when i go over 120 mph..woohoo..

I wished it was a straight fit!!hehe I was the hardest mod of the whole car to get right… But its all fully functional now including a few extra mods like start button instead of hazards and a stealth boost guage fitted into one of the dash vents…….

Sweet Can you make some pics of the dash in detail ? and post them up I really really really want to do the same in my next project car! Also can you tell me how much cutting you had to do to get it in.... Like i said a howtodo for this dash conversion would be ace :mrgreen: ( and i know you have the lot in because of the engine but yeah that is no biggie as that is what i am planning to do with the next project so i know i will need everything from the donor car complete dash with heater loom fusebox the works )

lol…I wished at the time of uild that i kept a more of a build of this project… This build as been a 7 year build which is very slow… Like i have always said this as been on and off the road whilst myself playing in afghan..  I look to try and find the pictures..If not ill look to replicating the dash build. I would personaly do it different again if i had another go… May be try to make the side more OEM than Carbon… I'll take a look into it around work…

  1. Carbon and chrome??  Do they go together?
  2. Carbon and black cars?
  3. How to solid fill alloys? Possible??
  4. Old style mk1 golf gti stripes yey or ney?

And 5) Which one? Chrome/Chrome red/ chrome black???

Hehe just going for somthing different.. Yes i love my brakes tmayhe Porsche calipers work well and look good! may alter slightly just to show brakes….hehe

hehe.. Just find it easy to uses…  Also this will save alot of time and money in the long run.. when i find the right idea….  Not sure on the wheels and other ideas that would look different and suit..??

Well after many thoughts and advise from others i'll be finishing it off like this…



Jobs to do…

1.  Wheels prep and paint..
2.  Grill spray and fit.
3.  Graphics source and fit..
4.  Carbon the bonnet.
5.  Polish polish and polish..

Fingers crossed i don't change my mind again…hehe
