Yes it is Bosch K-Jetronic, a form of mechanical fuel injection. Usually people only go for carbs when they put a 16V engine in a non GTI car.

finaly got the car in the bodyshop, will have it back in a few weeks.

could someone please photoshop the image above so the wheels are red but like claret not mars reds.

shes only been in the bodyshop just under two weeks and its driving me crazy not having it in this nice weather.

quick update

car has been in the bodyshop since 31st march, was hoping to have it back buy now but then on thursday i got a call from the bodyshop saying i need a new rear panel, bootlid and 2 new arches.

i have managed to sort out both parts rear panel and boot, wont have the panel for a week, so all in all its gonna be more like two months.

a right pain in my backside.

keep your chin up ive had lots of set backs since owning mine, especially as its a rolling resto :-/ makes it a love hate relationship which i do have with my car. currently love it, but give it a week or two....

yeah i know the feeling, the guy is very thourough with his work so it will be worth the wait.

finaly pick up my rear panel and arches last week.

fingers crossed i get it back in a couple of weeks.

just need to get some new wheels and exhaust

very thourough job atleast! bet that isnt cheap.

including panels and removal and re-fitting of glass  about 1700

thats not that bad when you think of the hours going into it

should be getting the car back monday-tuesday.

finaly got the car back last week, but i was not happy atall with the finish so im sending it back, just as soon as i get paid and put an MOT on it.

oh! and tax it

a list

- nail punch like pitting on drivers wing.
- burnt through the rear panel when welding, holes where the panel meets the floor pan.
p/side door looks like its gone 12 rounds with tyson.
- bottoms of doors not painted.

and the final straw was the hole in the floor pan that i asked to be welded.

i didnt see any of this when i picked her up as it was raining and did for 3 days, only got it out my garage on sat (5 days aftercollecting).
