Mk1 G60 build up number 2

After looking around for a while I managed to purchase another shell which had everything already done to it.
Front and Rear archs have been extended and the body has been smoothed.

This used to belong to leeson till he sold it and was then broken for parts.

I bought the car just before christmas and work started on it straight away.

This is how it turned up to me.





So I finally moved it from my mums round to my garage so i could swap parts of my silver Mk1 on to this one.

started off with suspension/wheels/driveshafts/hubs/brake linkage






Then the next weekend i moved on to putting the engine back in.

as it stands now.



got plenty more to do on this car including fitting the carbonfibre roofskin custom S1 dash and bigger dishs for the extended archs.

Nice one Paul, loved your silver one, but your engine in this one is gonna kill it!!  :wink:

There good fun plenty of torque and the sound is great.

dash temporary fitted but it's having a custom series 1 dash,purely because i like the look of the series 1 dash better.

more done today started on the series one dash it's by far finished and won't be to everyones taste.







The clocks are getting a revamp and will soon look totally different so watch this space

love the car what was the engine like to fit because im going between a 1.8 20v or g60 power .did you have to do the engine mounts.

The engine was really easy to fit if your using your original gearbox. You just need to buy a new drivers side conversion mount or make your own thats easy enough to do.

is it A a bit harder in a 1.1 shell though did you have to make up the mount or did you buy it from some where????

I made mine but you can buy them.

I'm sourcing a few bits myself to hopefully give a g60 conv ago too. What'll be easiest rad and intercooly to use?

Because of the charger you have to use either a g60 rad or as I have use a 1.5 topfill I used mercedes sprinter intercooler with a golf rallye u bend off the charger
