For Sale
Ok so I have had my Golf since Dec 2009, when I was given it by a friend who had owned it for 10 years however it had not been on the road for 8 years just sat under pine trees in his front garden.
Long story short I moved it to my house in the March of 2010. During the interim period I have amassed several body panels which need replacing.
I have stripped the interior out including the carpet - the front wings, windscreen, boot and lots of other parts have been stripped in an indeavour to find out if there is any hidden rust spots.
I am now at a sticking point as I haven't got a welder and am struggling to find a bodyshop who will actually come and look at it to give me a quote.
I will try and work out how to post pictures so you can all see what I'm dealing with and if anyone has any input on how / what I should do I'd appreciate the opinion.
***Amended***Will move to classifieds later tonight

There is a guide in the newbie section for picture posting. You need to have a free account on a photosharing website, most use photobucket and then upload to here.

A few photos
Cheers for the help
The night I had it towed on a flat bed to my house due to brakes being ruined and so not able to tow it
The strip down commences (I have now realised I've lost all the pictures of stripping the interior)

Looks very good for free but looks like you have a bit of a project ahead of you.
Now we just need to find a good welder in the area for you both

Well if anyone knows a welder let me know lol as there are a few bits that need doing lol - I'm also now at a point were I don't know were to go next - I'm going to take the dash out soon and the engine and petrol tank.
I don't really have a clue how to do any of these though lol!

Looks like a good little project dude.. i was in the same position when i bought my Mk1 polo..
i figured i'll do it myself, its cost me £50, and if i get it very wrong i'll break it for parts and get my money back.
My build thread
Get yourself a cheap ish welder - £150 will get you started.. do a bit of practicing and have a flick through a few books and off you go!The key is in the prep work.. if the metal is clean and keyed up well with a grinder, or corse sand paper it will weld nicely.
If i had paid anyone to do my car it wouldn't of been worth me starting.
Good luck with it!

Okay so it's looking grim for 'the freebie' - I can't find any welding courses and the few bodyshops that I can find willing to take on the welding mission are quoting £4k+ so if anyone out there know of a bodyshop or anywhere that would be willing to take it off my hands and fit it in as and when they can I am willing to do any jobs if it means the cost will be brought down same with time frame I am extremely flexible!
HELP…Please!

Teach yourself to weld, do the easy bits first. If you mess it up, then you can always grind the panels off and do it again.....
