Fantastic!!! Can't get any closer to home for me!
Are we still up for the treasure hunt?
If you wish to organise it then we'll see where we can fit it in!
Thought….. halve the "Enduro Rally" and do a Treasure Hunt!!!
Gammy, what are your thoughts on this??? :dontknow:

I'm there
However my almost dead Mk1 wont be as it's now gone What a silly boy I am…
But… I may have a new project on the go by then, one that is actually all there to start with would be good

well my thoughts are a treasure hunt is much better than the usual rally we do but we could have a mass meet say half way round the treasure hunt course :dontknow:
or we could do the Mcdonalds Challenge with 120 mk1s

GOT to do the rally through the towns… that was most peoples favourite event (people in the mk1's and villages waving alike!!!!)…. just shortened a bit…. treasure hunt sounds awesome… but mk1 McDonalds challenge is an cracking thought…

As Spud said please dont scrap the drive as that is one of the best things of the weekend - shorter though agreed. The scenery around the area is breathtaking and when you live close to Birmingham it makes a very refreshing change.

I'd be happy to sort out the treasure hunt if we can agree a route.
Have had a few ideas of where we could do a mass meet to get a photo of everybody, but must admit last years drive out was awesome.
Combining the 2 would work I think.
If we do the treasure hunt, we would need at least 2 people in the car though.
Last one I did was about an hour and half.
Things to spot, phonecall from a phonebox and things to collect on the way round.
McDonalds drive through sounds fab, but it leads straight onto th A50 here!
Whatever we do, It will be MK1 magic!

Oi! - Its my ownership of a "rubbish Italian car" that's helped me know what goes on under a bonnet, which in turn has kept your rust-bucket running on many occasions.
Besides, the driver of the Bentley Continental GT soon decided that it wasn't "rubbish" when he couldn't keep up…. He joined the ever lengthening list of drivers that have been "educated" - 911GT3, RS4, EVO6, M3, M5, M6 - all have tried and failed - he he 8)

Don't get too excited, its not any of the exotica. Its just a fast Fiat that's been very heavily modified - now running around 450 bhp
0-60 in less than 5 seconds. 0-100 in less than 10 seconds 12.3 second quarter mile and 150mph in 1km from a standing start. Top speed is unknown but will probably be in the region of 180 - 185

You just couldn't resist could ya
To be fair, of all the times I've been in this car under anger, it never fails to impress me… Especially in a long tunnel with the windows open 8)
Back to the gathering, is there any ideas on an itinerary? and of costs?
