what colour suits mk1's best?

im guna do a full respray and was wondering what colour to go?"/

any ideas?

unless its a bare metal respray of the entire shell, changing colour always looks naff when the door shuts, interior, engine bay, floor pan etc are a different colour.

If you really have to;

mid 70's bright primary colours
the classic GTI Mars Red, Silver and Black
trendy 80's metallic Lhasa green and Helios blue.

i would for sure do an entire respray inside and out, bay area!"

Imo black and mars red and lhasa green are the best. Black is swirl mark heavon though!

see the thing is my 83 driver is mars red but its slightly faded, shud i jus give it a gud polish? like how do you get it lookin spanking new?

What about a colour no-one has, like the new vw ice white or new scirocco lime green.

I have found the best colour for me is white. You can change the look without touching the colour. Change the wheels, lights and hood skin (if cabby)

If you pick the right one you will love it and will be unique.

The birght R32 blue would look pretty good too imo

gud thing is that ther is no mk1 golfs around where i live so as it is the mk1 stands out pretty well although i would love a colour that stands out from the crowd (:
