37 - good to see a lot of young 30s & 40s are on this forum
had my first mk1 1.8 gti at 18
I was like a dog with two …..
ran it on pennies , £200+ to insure it for 3 months at a time

I'm 27.

I had my first Mk1 (GLS) when I was 16 but was led astray and got into Mini's.

Saw sense and got back into VW's about 5/6 years back.    :punk:

been into vw's since i was a kid (still am according to some people) but mk1's since my neighbour had one since i was 12 and i ended up buying it!

I'm another grumpy 30 something at 34.  Had my first Mk1 in 1996.  It was a rusty series 1 GTI with one rear wheel arch fatter than the other.  Had my 2nd from 1997-2006.  Got my 3rd this year and is very much a work in progress.

This is an awesome thread…. not only what age you are but how many mk1's you've owned or how long you've lusted after one…. cracking  :mrgreen:

I'm 38 and got the cabby just under 3 years ago for the wife as a christmas present, she's 34 by the way.

I'm 38 I am. Currently own a leather rivage cabby, a slammed t4 syncro and 140bhp 9n polo sport. My daily is a merc sprinter.

Im 41..and just left a deposit on my 5th Mk1 today!! Although I have had a few other VW's and quite a few other cars in my time

I'm 40, got my first mk1 gti as my second car at the age of 18.. Just sold my T4, but still own a mk1 cabby(compromise with the mrs) and a mk4 golf..

35 & my 1st car was a patchy lido green 5 door mk1.

I am 32 & got my 1st MK1 at the age of 22

Been into dubs about 5 years but I needed to get a mk1 about a year ago lol

Im 10+5 +6 -9 +20 x2 -24=21  :wink: always been in to my dubs.. keeps you young!!!  

55, first golf was a 6 year old mk1 gti,wish i had kept it.

I'm 18. had my Mkiv for a year and a bit before getting my cabby 1.8 gti this summer. been a veedubber for years before I was even allowed to buy one haha.
