I`ll have a punt at it, I`m from Ashington i have a mk1 cabby and want to meet other mk1 golf owners in the northeast, I`m going to check the forecast for this sunday so if people would like to start a meet how about we get together on the long car park in tynemouth (inbetween the sealife place and the church) aroud half 12ish? we can have a look at each others cars, pick brains, grab a burger? If your interested in getting regular meets up stick your name and where ya from and we can sort something out

Alreet!? I would be up for it but I've just pulled my engine out! Off to bodyshop next week and hope to get time to put it all back together in the next couple of weeks, so hope to hook up next time!

We're up for coming along as well, so we can make a convoy from Middlesbrough.

We've had our cabby for a year but never had her on the road as we've completed quite a bit of work. Finally going for MOT today so hopefully a few weeks of nice driving before resting her for the winter.

Has any specific dates or places been agreed yet?

No dates or places yet since i just joined and noticed this thread had died and there wasnt anything setup for northeast members, Theres a good few from your way aswell so maybe the metrocentre would be an easy place for everyone to get as theres always plenty of space on the top floor in the multistory for all cars to be put together for photos and somewhere inside for everyone to grab a meal?

How did your mot to Alf? I havent had time to get mine sorted yet i got everything done and now my fan has stopped kicking in so need to replace the sensors, rad n fan oh fun

It's on the a19 it's a pub near Hartlepool. Big car park.
Check out Vagcars forum they hold there meets there was at one last night

Is there nothing further north that you know of?

Where you thinking like it has to be a central point to cover Middlesbrough, Sunderland and Newcastle and be a place that is happy to have cars parked in there car park on a busy day like Sunday, I don't mind traveling but it has to be central for us all.
Maybe we can discuss it at the agm
