Mk2 1.3 to ABF

Surprised I've never seen you driving around in this before you took it off the road, I'm only over in Leavesden.

Gold is better than blue IMO. :-D

thats awsome mate, i have contemplated doing this conversion myself on my 1.3, red is just the best colour when it comes to detailing. just looks soo clean and i love what you've done the the servo 8)
good luck with the rest of the build.

Was never a big fan of red cars but have a real soft spot for cherry red. Especially when it's going to be coming out nice and fresh.

thanks for the comments buddy. Hopefully the engine should be running by the end of this week and going in for paint next week.
Just need to get the tyres sent down for the new wheels as they're getting powder coated and can get cracking.

Then it's onto the interior which is going to look shocking against the rest of it

btw - loving your pic there looks sweet.
the 16s, the small bumpers very nice

Roight, thought i'd update this as i havn't for a while now

collected a full interior and made up some door speaker pods

Made the frames

Covered

Fibre glassed

And test fitted before covering

Now onto the car itself
Rolled into the bay after a mammoth week long rub down and smoothing

But unfortunately when the front screen was taken out this was underneath

Not impressed but happy that this was discovered because now once this is repaired she will be 100% rust free

On with some progress.
Scuttle being repaired

And a bit more smoothing. In this case off with the extra wiper hole

and voila

Also the front valance is being prepped and almost ready for the primer

another update
More bits going back together

the exhaust has now been fitted properly but the DTM backbox ended up in the bin
the interior has been fitted apart from the front doorcards but need to sort out some new door membranes
still need to pick up some longer wheel bolts for the spacers and a few other bits and pieces that i'm not particularly happy about but hey ho

hopefully there will be a letter from the DVLA with good news in the form of a V5

new wheels fitted aswell but definitely needs to come down a lil bit more

Loaded ready to come home and looking like a car again
Still needs finishing but definitely getting there

Lovin the new wheels but needs to come down a bit more.
Also toying with the idea of installing air and possibly changing the wheels for winter use to keep them safe
Maybe wang the RA's back on after a bit of a refurb but fancy something else
