mk1 cabrio build

thanx bud,i have done all body work ie welding,filling,primer,the only part i have actually painted is the engine bay+engine n bits inc polishing.the rest will be getting done by a pro.on the look out for a new red/maroon carpet.i have a new maroon roof+beige headliner,seats beige with maroon center+piping (seats not done yet last on list to do).clear lights all round,standard rims bbs polished lip gold centers,i have a mental image just gota make it happen :-)  not much to do but wait now,need bug pack poly bushings+steering boot on order 4-5 week.

the sump will be changed when all poly bushes fitted,on back order ;-(
good news is my shiney new coilies turned up today ;-)

hi jay looked at ya photos on photo bucket looks sound you hav took a massive project on there but trust me that is gona be one bangging top car when you finish it----if your missing any bits of trim give me a ring got a few bits and bobs---but im away for two weeks from tomoz vic

just fired it up since engine build and she runs proper sweet
that light at the end of the tunnel is getting bigger and bigger ;-)

jus got back from ibiza seen this to remind me…


here is how the engine bay looks now,had to make the rad brackets.i just couldn't find them anywhere,made with 2mm alloy sheeting,look pretty good for 30 min work.



new vw s just not the same,all this off to replace a poxy sensor (tdc pick up) still awkward when stripped this much

2 more weeks and she should be painted ;-)
o and the expansion tank inc hose and washer bottle will be getting replaced with nice new ones
i am also in the proccess of polishing another intake
what are these worth when done?

still a few hours left to do yet,jus to keep me busy

does anyone have some bulb holders for these rear lights?,standard ones are different.
i also need an electric aerial a front screen (cracked taking it out ;-(. and a seal with slot in for chrome trim.

done a bit  today,i got my new seal for windscreen so that got fitted,also fit my headlamps and grille.
other than that i been polishing all the alloy waist trim bits and the sill trims.
