Winter car project. FINISHED pics 1/1/12

As some of you know I got myself a winter car. A completely original '81 CL. 77K with service history up to 67K. A bit rusty but it had never been welded.

Some pics of it when i got it home. Yes its on stilts for now   First wash in over 3 years as it had just been sitting in someones drive. G60's off my red one were on for the MOT

The bumpers were really faded but straight so i sprayed them black

Masked up

Turned out really well I think

Love the red interior against the white. :)

This lot will be going on today if the rain ever stops :banghead:

Looks like a nice car and the new parts will be awesome on it! So is your red one resting over the winter? I hope to see it some time at a meet, it looks very nice!

yeah the red one is off the road for the winter. Maybe even the whole year  I might swap the insurance over in the summer if i get the red one up to scratch again. Needs a tidy up in places.

I'll be at the meet on the 6th probably but in the 4 door.

What car will you be taking?

Well done mate, quite a nice find and 'Luxury Underlay'… Only the best for a MK1.

While I've your attention, do you want that image I retouched? I'll email it over to you if you like.

Yeah they turned out well I think. It was halfords black plastic bumper paint. I think I only used 1 can on each as it covers pretty well

Yeah, I wasnt sure how they would look in all silver on a white car but I really like them. They are painted but Im thinking about polishing the lips and spraying the spokes a different colour. You can probably guess

Thanks for the comments
