not much been happening so a bit of a shit update. couldnt do anything on golf saturday as had to do headgasket on jetta :/, woke up sunday with all intentions of going and picking up parts n starting to to prep bay. as i was arranging to pick my mate up i noticed weather. well that messed everything up.

next weekend though picking up engine, box, and ancillaries on the saturday. stripping my mates cab of its mounts drive shafts sunday and removing tank and fuel lines on my golf. monday getting the engine mount relocated and start prepping bay hopfully. i know its very optimistic to get all that done in 3 days but gotta aim for something! :D

engine out and finding problems now

ive changed my 1.3 servo today to a 16v for the conversion and on the forked peice at the end of the servo doesnt have the little hole for the spring to go in like on the 1.3 servo?

just wondering if the spring is actualy needed on the 16v one at all? is it self sprung?

just confusing the hell out of me as theres no where to connect it.

also the track rod ends wont come off so i can get the steering rack off god knows why. think im gunna have to get the hubs off and cut em off.

even though ive had these problems still happy as ive got engine deliverd now! :D

ported and polished 2.0l 16v 6a from an audi 80 with kr kead decided to have a look how it would look in the bay n put the tools down ha.

also one other thing. i think ive dropped a proper bollock with the gear linkage i think ive put the gear selector on the wrong way not sure

anyone mind letting me know if i have? lol

cheers dude. not running them after i dont think after the conversion coz of low valver sump. although ive been told that 6a sumps arent as low as kr or 9a coz they have a shorter block?

if i can still go realy low with the valver theyll be staying i think.

next cheeky little update now ive started to actualy pull my finger out. just got the seats our ready for the cage this weekend.

never had as much of a struggle as it was to get the fucking petrol tank off, ended up having to use the axle to crush the tank so i could wiggle it out. think im gunna have to take the rear axle off to put the new tank on.

also them rubber fuel lines that i bought from advanced fluid solutions got cracked on.  look a lot tidier than i thought they would. happy with the result. just hope that theyre long enough after my mate cut them :|  heres a couple of pics of how they look as requested in the help section.

oh and i got a bit worried about how low i was when i saw this part haha

loved it!

also found out with the servo wouldnt go on right and corrected that so now servos on spot on 16v brakes ftw!

scrapping them lines i think. never actualy thought about the fact they are rubber and are external under a car dropped 120mm ha. gunna get some copper ones i think cheap and cheerful from what ive heard but work spot on n are sound for under the car.

also picked up the cage for the golf today from UD so that will be going in and gunna mock up a false floor template for tomorrow.
