hi, im new and will be needing your help :-)

hello, my names natalie and im 23 from the midlands ;-)

i will be picking up my mk 1 on the 14th october and i just cant wait to get her

i have no experience with mk1s, my brother has a mk 2 and i currenty have a mk 3 but i dont know much about them, just the basics

the first thing i want to do when i get her is get her slammed ;-) as low as poss but not too low that i cant get over speed bumps haha,…… can anyone give me a idea of what size springs i will need to get and wheres the best place to get them from?

also i want to get her a nice crome roof rack? anyone know how i go about that??

hi natalie, welcometo the site, if you need any parts or advice funk-stars a god man to talk too, very fair on prices and has many many parts second and new, his just bought a retro boot lid rack not sure where he got it but his a man good at getting hold of many parts, his always delivered on request's for parts for us at the mk meet and knows his stuff :wink:

sounds like you have many plans for your new purchase, get some pics up for us too see her/him, and ya bruv's mkII i still have a big soft spot for them.

if you get stuck or need help you'l get plenty of that on here everyones cool and quick to help with and queries or questions :wink:

hi, i might have a roofrack you maybe interested in. if you want to go really low then go for coil-overs but expect to be rattled as you feel every bump… i'm in chesterfield derbyshire .. do you ever go to any of the dubdayz meets ??

not far from me then im in Ilkeston, do ya know where that is? in the middle of Nottingham and Derbyshire? ……no i havent been to one yet, i really want to though, been to a few local vw meets but thats it….ill be going everywhere once ive got my mk1 tho hehe

yea coil overs are expensive though arn't they? do you know wheres the best place to get them from and where i can get them fitted?

 

hi yep i know ilkeston, i used to deliver to a few pubs n chinese take-aways in that area.   if you send me your email addy i will get a pic of the roof-rack to you.  
 have a look at hot tuning for coil-overs, think they give discounts to club members . not sure on the quality , i guess you get what you pay.when will you be getting your mk1 ?

ok cool ill pm it you now ;-) if you can send it me tonight that would be cool as i go to Newquay for a week tomoro and wont have internet…….if not no worries ill take a look when i get back

ive seen some cheap coil overs today in the golf + mag….. they are called JOM ?240, do you know anything about them? dunno if they will be ok or not….im goin to put a post up on here to ask everyone

I normally run eyebrows on my mk1, one fell off not so long ago - havent got round to putting back onyet

i think they look cool!!

as to coilies - the jamex ones are prettymuch the same as the hot tuningones, see trader section,they are about ?170 and a doddle to fit…..


Get some more pics up when you get it

having trouble reading pm's at moment so can sort it when you get back, also know a good place for chrome mirrors ……not sure on the coil overs, i'm not a big fan tbh.
