Small up date of what has been done
Here are some pics.
Replacement boot lid fitted and lower rear panel welded in to place.
Patches welded to the osr arch, I think a bit more work has to be carried to to finish off.
New front wings fitted and front end all prep'ed for paint
So my restoration is moving on nicely.
Rear arch's to be replaced and few more patches and bulkhead to be repaired.
I just need to carry on with the engine now and get some interior parts sorted and etc…………….
One day it'll be finished

Engine going back together
I didn't like the look of the old water pump I fitted a new one!
sump fitted with new bolts and all painted
I decided that the engine bay needed a little extra colour, since I painted the engine black and the car is black as well so I've painted the inlet manifold red! I hope it looks good when its all together.

Test fit exhaust manifold
I'm glad I did because it didn't fit!!
I had to grind the stud holes out at each end. There would have been a lot of swearing if I had found this out once the engine was fitted because I wouldn't have been able to see what the problem was.
Any ways heres some more pics. Looks awsome in my opinion!! But I am a little Bias!

I've also been promised it back in time for Christmas. Nearly 9 months at the body shop by then!!
Heres some pics of the work that has been carried out.
This arch was done by the owner of the body shop and looks pretty good, just needs filling.
This arch was done by the Appentice and ain't quite so good, well thats what the owner said any ways, he did say he would sort it out and get it looking top notch.
Its far better than what I could do!
Also when I got home from work the door cards I purchased from lakesk8 had arrived and they are in really good nik. A big thank you for selling them to me.

I noticed you've placed a poly insert into the engine mount. I seriously dont reccommend it as it'll rattle the t!ts out your car.
I fitted 1 to my 16v truck, when cruising, i ended up holding the dash to stop it from vibrating so badly . I binned it and had a new standard mount pressed it like you already have.

I am still a little undecided as to weather or not I shoud keep the poly engine mounts. The bust was a really tight fit so it might just have to stay there now!!!

Just an update
I had to swap the wheels over. I need the tyres off the TSW alloys for the wifes car.
Roof being repaired. Patch ready to be welded in.
View of the side
I now also have my new head lining courtesy of newton commercials.
I've been promised it before x-mas as well.
Fingers crossed.
Hope you all like whats going on with it.

Hate to point this out, but the engine mount insert is in upside down.
Dam It!!
Took me ages to get that in and broke my vice in the process!!
The old one must have been wrong to as I copied that!!
Oh well it'll keep me amused for a little while trying to put it right!!

How difficult was it to swap the door hinge pins?
The hinges were replaced by the bodyshop its at. The guy who did it said he had to modify them a little because the bolts were a little bigger.
Its worth doing as the doors hang better and close with ease.
