there is a connecter up by the ecu wiring 2 pin check that. also there is a single wire (live) that comes from the fuse box. It is the centre black plug. Check that :D The pin for the wire is E14 if i remember correctly its marked on the fuse box.

hope u get ur problems sorted soon.

dunno if you messed with the accumulator at all but if you have the pipes on the wrong way the pump will start to struggle( i did :S). also i would connect your pipes to the ecu all that you need is a T peice you will get the pipe no problem. Your fuel pipe has to be 8mm i am pretty sure. Thats what i have on mines and no problems so far.i know you have alreayd said you have the plugs on the right order but just to be certain

1—2
–0–
3—4
from looking at the dizzy straight on

and obviously the order from the cam side 1 2 3 4

Is this plug order correct for my 83 gti too?

The 2 pin connector you mention, is it a black connector, with a black wire and a yellow/red stripe wire?

I currently don't have this connected up, as the other part of the loom this was connected to I have not used.

But now I have no power to the pumps, wur etc, and no noise from the relay, so im guessing this should be connected up?

Sorry to hi jack the tread

Cheers

Pete.

black/yellow wire is a feed from the idle switch, if not connected you wont be able to set the ignition timing properly as it wont go into idle mode. simple solution is to put 12v to this pin then set your ignition timing.

the red/yel wire is the fuel pump trigger earth, it is only required if you use a 16v/digifant type fuel relay.  If you have a k-jet 8v relay you dont need it

aha!

well, the top blue hose is the fuel return from he engine, the black hose next to it is the feed to the engine.  the other nipple on the top is the return to the fuel tank and the last connection on the bottom of the plastic reservoir is the feed from the mk2 lift pump

you may need to turn the ignition on & off loads of times before you crank it to fill the reservoir up with fuel :)
