Thats how much it costs!!!!! Its not easy!!!!!!!

I dont think for a minute its easy but im not sure its worth anywhere near that much

TSR quoted me 6k and that was too fit a 225bhp bam engine

Is that including the engine itself, ECU loom and various other parts and if so is it reconditioned/upgraded?

That's a lot of money for a conversion!!!   8O

Have you tried that number i gave you in modifications bit on here when you asked. Like i said never used them but you never know just seen them while passing.

No probs, if you do call them post up a price please just for comparisson. I know the engines them selfs bring good money. I know a kid in mexborough who got his mate to fit a vr6 lump in his 96 polo for ?600 but had to spend a fair whak on custom parts and things

i'll do it for ?6999!

LOL… I'm getting another one to be a modded project car and will be looking in this thread for details here ….. long way off though mate lol.

Try TUK customs for a quote he's a body specialist but probably has contacts (he's called Rob).  Also this fella knows his stuff and outsources engine conversions DubzByDan … there's probably loads about… AK Bodycraft, Awesome Gti… loads that have done it before and can maybe get heavy discount so costs you less  :dontknow:

Have you budgeted for upgraded suspension, brakes, gearbox, etc or is this in the quote? Its going to cost you more than just an engine upgrade.

Stop being so tight, get the credit card out!  

I have an invoice for ?7400 relating to a BRMotorsport conversion on my campaign and that is old money,,it is incredible what some people will spend on a car. that is more than the car cost when new!

Further to that, thankfully some people are happy to push the boat out on these cars, surely it would make sense to look out for a car already converted and sell your current Golf?

7k is alot more like 5k but then you can get it done for about 2k :wink:

the man who did that converion is adapterman on this forum

im doin mine in the next few weeks so il let you know if i want to do it again

I have been reading adaptermans thread its great. Mexborough in s.yorks is where the kid lives and almost sure he said it was somebody local who did it for him at ?600 but i may be wrong. Or do you mean hes done same conversion.
