When the seller gave me the details following his cherished transfer, so that I could arrange insurance and the ferry booking, I asked him if he'd told me the correct way around - I thought he made a mistake and that it should be MVV 57Y, which would be correct for a car manufactured on 29th September 1982.
However Y57 MVV has been issued to the car - says so on the V5c and the new tax disc. Someone in the cherished transfer section has given the car the wrong "Y" methinks :dontknow:
Is the car more valuable now??

Nice. How come its a 2001 Y reg??
Further to my last - I purposely didn't mention this, to see who would notice first
Have to say, I never gave it a second thought (just a little disappointed that it didn't get an "A" registration - so that I could transfer a personal plate of my own). It was a friend of mine who pointed out the mistake when I told him the reg…

Looking good. I think I'd have ended up stalking someone to sell me the red one too.

I have now received the V5c logbook - it matches the plates and the tax disc.
Looks like the "Y" prefix is here to stay, unless they realise the mistake and contact me :dontknow:
