If you haven't already, I would join www.scottishvag.net aswell as there are meets all over Scotland organised on there. There are quite a few mk1 owners on there including me.
There are also meets organised on here in Scotland. Check out the regions section http://www.vwgolfmk1.org.uk/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewforum&f=5

I'm up in 'Sneck (well, Culloden) -I've seen quite a few mk1's and cabriolets recently. I've got a blue / grey mk 1 Caddy in case you've seen that about.
You may have missed out on the Tain classic show a couple of weekends ago -there must have been 6 or 7 mk1's at that. All very tidy -one red cabriolet was featured in the PnJ just a couple of weeks before.
If anyone's doing anything up there let us know although I'm working in Aberdeen during the week for the next 2 months or so.

Was at the Tain classic car show & it was brill to see golf mk1s .The show was the link to the Purchase of my Mk1
It would be great to get few Mk1s together & take them for a run to maybe ullapool or even applecross before the end of the summer.
I am on the reserve list for this years La crofterra

All good with USK so far . after 4 years of browsing ebay at the MK1s i thought i better commit before i drive mysel crazy.
Glad i did ( the cars a pocket rocket )
i am thinking about putting the standard alloys back on the car (8 spoke) .think it might improve the way the car feels on the road !!!!its currently running on 205/15/45

wasnt me on sunday ( wonder who it was )
using the car most days at the moment though , much more fun to drive than my mk4 tdi 150 - the 1980s radio cassette & speakers have no bass un sounds a bit poor, but i am not changing it , the brakes need a good right foot as well .
cheers
