i started this topic in may 2009 . i an now knocking on 54 and still have the same mk 1 which is now 35 . any of the original posters still here .any new members want to reveal your age in relation to your golf .

I'm a 1964 and I'm at the petrol station to wash mine since he came out of hibernation and guess what! 

I'm wearing my grey MK1OC hoodie from 2014, not that it makes me feel any younger though!   O_o  :lol:

There he is waiting patiently for his first jet wash of the year.
The temperature will hit 22 or 23 degrees here today and I've got today and tomorrow off!

We thought we'd offer some surprising stats about the owners club… based on what's been collected over the last year or so from Google Analytics (people who visit the website)

The average age of the MK1 Owner (or people who are at least interested in MK1s) is between 25-35!

We do monitor this, so it's been known for a while, but you would expect it to be between the 35-45 based on the people you see a shows! Means there's a younger market ready to join in on the future classics!

Well that is a Deep Subject….
First dub was a 81 bought in 80, I was 26.
Owned that for 20 years, then bought my First Cabby in 2003 so I was in my 40's, now I am dam near 60. Still own and drive a Cabby or 2.
What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

I was born in 1972 and my Golf is 1988 so it's alot younger than me, I had just finished school when it was registered on the road in September 1988.
1988 Mk1 Golf GTi Cabriolet 1.8cc DX, K-jet. Daily drive. 317,000 miles and counting
1978 Mk1 Scirocco GLS 1.6cc FR, Webber carb. Weekend toy.

I'm 34 and my newly acquired Mk1 cabby is 28 (1988) we're both in good nick but have our problems n niggles and need a little touch up here and there 😂
