Car is now, sadly, for sale, getting married in a few months and budget is somewhat short. sadly the golfs gotta go.

Picking up an engine crane on saturday, engine out then getting a spit to sort out the underneath. she's back!

I'm itching to get cracking on the old girl now, got my engine crane now woop woop, unfortunately have to wait for my mum to return from Devon so i can fix her mk3 and get all these mk3 parts(pretty much a full front end in there!) out of my garage and get cracking.

Lets do things properly this time eh?

Mums mk3 done over the weekend, just need to clear out all the dented panels now from my garage,keeping the wings for a spot of welding practice.

Also picking up my new daily driver on friday all being well, Bye bye audi a4, hello Corrado!  :mrgreen:  :mrgreen:  :mrgreen:

Had a good tidy up of the garage and guess what i found…a forgotten 1981 golf mk1 gti!  

Well, seriously i did have a tidy up though.

After much stalling and umm and ahhing and even after putting it up for sale yet again, i just ain't got the heart to sell her, so she's staying. Bought some refurbed brake calipers the other day(weirdly, there what persauded me to keep her :? ) and today took the bonnet off and started stripping the engine for removal,driveshafts are nice and loose now so ready to come off and the exhaust is disconnected to. I did take some pics, but i left the camera in the garage  

On a different note, i wd40'd prettymuch everything on the underside of the car and the exhaust studs came out soooooooooooooooooeasy today! 8)  highly highly recommend it, i'm getting some moretomorrow!!!

Well, the engines out, the driveshaft on the drivers side was worryingly loose, i'm getting a bit worried about the amount of bodges i'm finding, why the hell can't people fix things properly?
Whilst i was working and rocking the engine to free it from its mounts, i heard a bang from the back of the car, i thought some of thestuff in the car had fallen over, but nope, had a look under the car and guess what, the exhaust had fallen off!




Anyway, had a go at some welding this afternoon, i was'nt very good, i blew a big hole in the metal i was practising on.

Gone on to bigger and better things with a new owner who'll treat her right.

On the look out for something with 4 doors, chrome and a carb now.
