ye hes a member,sound guy,the battery on A97 jce is a polo diesel battery off a 06 plate car,should be ok just the alarm kills it after a week or so  :wink:

Errr, it's 54bhp actually!   Am I the only one that thinks the Mk1 brakes are fine in non-GTI's? I've never had a brown-pants moment no matter how fast I've been going - I think they're pretty good!  
Kampakev…your car's a dead ringer for mine when I first got it!  8O You coming to the Mk1 club show in it, in July? I was the only diesel there with the original engine last year. Looks like this year there'll be a few more of us. :mrgreen:

Anyway back to the orignal discussion who was at Berts Today ?

its not the engine,is it on choke/cold start all the time,do you start it with the cold start then push it in after 2 mins? may be pump timing very slightly advanced thats all,nothing to worry about,the 1.6D is a noisy lump  :wink:  get a petrol

Oh it was corkygolf who came today,camber,tracking,tie rod replacement,drink t,chat,gear linkage kit

been to berts today and tonight for some repairs.

Nope i am very happy with the Diesel Mate :mrgreen:
Never want to go back to a Petrol… Could be a pump timing… Just like to have it running perfect  

Will get it in a month or 2 for a service check up mate  :mrgreen:

all the service bits are new max,check the pre filter i told you about be the main filter under the bonnet  :wink:  small plastic one
