I don't think "steering column" and "on the cheap" are phrases you want to hear in the same sentence really.

Isn't that what killed the great Ayrton Senna?

no i think that was the wall. and his shear arrogance catching upto him.

It was DEFINITELY NOT the wall! If you had done your research, you'd know that the death was caused by any one of these 3 things, which happened in the accident sequence:

The right front wheel hit him on the head
This impact, made the crash helmet hit the back of the cockpit very hard
A piece of upright attached to the wheel, penetrated the helmet

I am disappoined with novocaine's lack of respect for a truly insparational racing driver. Shame on you.

dont take it to heart paul the comment was an off the cuff remark. what you do have to remember though is that he really was a arrogant driver who was known to crash a car just to win a race. he pushed his luck and eventually it caught up with him.
it was a shame when he died but he lead the way for many new drivers to enter a sport and pushed the safety of the sport on ten fold.

No worries, just need to remember that he's dead now, he can't argue his side, so someone needs to stick up for him. I'm kinda neutral towards him (bit before my time) but I still respect what he did.
