We managed to convince someone that lol meant lots of love.  Then a relative died and they texted "Thinking of you at this hard time, we are here for you lol"

Also, completely off topic, turn on your predictive text, accept default values and try writing the text "Fancy getting food in the crown?"

My mate sent that one, didn't get a reply for 15mins so rang his mate up and said "Did you get my text?  Do you fancy it then?"

ha ha ha, don't you just love the modern world of the internet! lol

In Northampton it means : F…… up beyond all recognition

as in "broken", different places have different versions of things.

I used to work in Leicester and everyone kept saying "mardy"
never knew what it was suposed to mean, but guessed it meant moody.
But in but in Milton Keynes moody meant stolen, so if anyone knows
what mardy means I would be grateful.

I have got a book on "Brit slang" so going to go an find it, see if
its in there  :wink:
