hi there all sorted now found the problem why it wouldn't run i put the fuel lines on the wrong way round, swapped them over and she runs im well chuffed did it all myself and wot made it easier was all the wiring swapping over, sorted

You have to wire up the ECU to get the thing to spark! If you use the previous ignition stuff (eg from stock GTI), then you'll have no vacuum or mechanical advance. The stock GTI uses a dizzy that does this, the 16V's dizzy doesn't have this and its done by the ECU.
