So got back from my work visit to France, to a few packages.

and

Oh, wanted to see inside?

and

Oh yer! I do love some retro/rare goodies!

Also thinking of engine changes, but can't decide between Petrol with a bark or derv with torque…….

So thats it for now!

Next is to get it idling, as it doesn't at all since the trip to Ed38!

C&C welcome.

So.

Not really many updates, as I'm still trying to sell my Mx5.

But, having a idle issue.

The car won't idle at all. Hot or cold. I have changed:

- Dizzy cap, rotor arm & condensor
- Leads & plugs
- Coil
- Rebuilt Carb
- Manual choke conversion
- Timing checked

And it still doesn't idle? And seems to be getting a weak spark!

Any ideas?

And the main update. I've just got my hands on this.

Only plans are to use the engine & gearbox.

its not standard at all.

and a rough spec list

Going to be alot of fun!

C&C welcome.

Ah fair dos!

So few updates. One that has put a massive downer on the project for me. And has topped off alot of interesting finds so far. More later.

So, had a few German Packages turn up. one containing. Nos grill badge.

Other a small Dash ornament

Then last Sat. We test fitted the engine.

Didn't start off well. The gearbox i was told that would fit & be suitable. Didn't fit, so needed to get something on it to make it work temporarily. Did that and managed to get a gearbox mount fab'd up.

So its going to run a 020 Gearbox out of the Caddy Van, but will build a suitable 020 from a 1.6 or .8 driver, Going to Drill the diff rivets & replace with bolts to help it manage the torque.

And finally the part that is going to make or brake the project.

While cleaning and De-greasing the lump, after taking the inlet mani. i discovered this.

Yip a fliping piece of silicone hose/reducer inside a inlet port. Properly wedged, couldn't reach with my finger. So Have a REALLY bad feeling something might not be right inside….. How the flip anyone missed this pipe disappearing is beyond me.

So going to have to take the head off now & pray nothing is bent.

But onwards and upwards! Bay to be painted this weekend!

Then After some work today managed to get to this stage

Then turned attention to the interior

Good two friends of mine helping out!

Discovered this vintage jem! Ha!

Oh yer! Blue dash is in.

Brakes are in. Gti vented disks, ebc Greenstuff Pads, Goodridge hoses

Intercooler Fitted

Just as we finished up today.

And as we left it.

Hope to have last few loose ends tied up, and hopefully fire her up.

C&C welcome.

Yer bud!

Like i say. Lots of tidying.

Taking all the boost pipes into work, to get beads put onto them to stop popping off. Then to paint em & change all hoses to black.
