MK1 Jetta Coupe 20vt

This was this weekend just gone.

I hadnt checked on the jetta for ages, so went to see if it was all ok in this super cold weather.

It started on the button and seemed fine, apart from the 1/4 mile runs ment my inlet and bonnet have seen better days.





Nice groove, another thing for me to fix.

My non mk1 things that I've been working on instead of the Jetta.

You can guess where this is going , but I like the m5 sooo much that I'm holding off pulling it apart for a bit.



I had a fling with this for a bit. Mk2 vr6 that I stripped down and re did. It turned out nice, but I just didn't love it so sold it.

As it was sold driving away from my house.
I had to raise the back loads because the new owner moaned it was too low. I felt I could get it much lower and had it at a sensible height. So it looked awful leaving.
He says he's re painting it ready for edition this year.

What size tires are on those 16's?

Been doing bits to my touring.
I did buy this 2 door and I was going to swap everything over, but decided it was a bit of a waste of time. So sold this and it was mint, not a spot of rust.
I decided to go all out and put an m5 v8, charge that all in an early chrome e30 as not many people use them. Pic above.

My touring now isn't getting charged, just sticking to the 4.0 v8 and full interior. The chrome one will be stripped out. I've been using the touring to mock up headers and stuff, so it's a bit slow in getting built.



Right that's it for now, I'll get back to work on the Jetta and stop filling this up with my non VW tat.

On the red RS they are 165-40-16 all round
On the black e52 they are 195-40 out back and 165-40-16 up front.

I like that size.  What are the spec's on the wheels?

They are 7 & 8, with really low offsets, I machined 6mm off the rear to get them to fit. Can't rememeber the off sets, I about to change them all.
I'm no a fan of massive dishes so going bigger barrels and small dish.

A few more wheel centres going back to original gold, i really hate black wheels and couldnt cope with it any longer.

What kind of paint did you use on your headlights?

Matt black masonry paint
I had some left from painting the name on my house.
 Worked perfect in the lights

Ok, I will have to pick some up. My light look like crap right now.

Yeah my lights were falling apart inside and this seemed an way way to refresh them.


Original old Bbs outer halfs have arrived from the USA



Still even got the original Bbs stickers on.

Rear plinth arrived.

So you managed to get hold of one of the rear covers, where did you find it?

Some chap on edition replied to my wanted add.
It's in amazing condition, but I felt totally ripped off paying so much for it

I have one too so how are you going to mount it?  Are you going to drill holes in back or you going use some other method?

I'm not sure. I may drill holes in the car and plate and then screw it on or if I think tape will hold it on ok, I'll tape it.
