I've gone and done it again......

I used to have a GLI 1600 some years ago(1985) cracking car but i always wanted a Golf GTI(MK1) of course

Just love the brother or sister of the Golf [which ever you choose] and the two door Jettas look great big thumbs up for your red Jetta mate and by the way a9wyn I bet you wish you had your Gli Jetta now as they are rare

I can't recall when I last saw a GLI. I think they were only produced for about 2 years for the UK market and seemed to rust badly for some reason. Maybe the lack of arch liners didn't help and the lack of wax in the sills etc.

Just for curiosity sake if you no much about the time span or when they were made I would be interested.I didn't even no that they even made them untill I saw one in a scrap yard.It was quite afew years ago now but If my memory serves me well it was a 1600 one in matalic blue series 2 Xreg?
