'Monkeys RS Turbo

Started to get the wheels ready to get some fresh rubber on them, out came the knifing putty and managed to get them refurbed, far easier than polishing the cups i did! Sprayed in Ford Diamond White

Also pulled my finger out and ported/polished the cylinder head

Got a Piper 285T2 cam, uprated lifters, springs, hardened valve etc for £20 all in with the head

Gave the zorst a quick clean (looks a million times better than this now!)

Also been toying around with photoshop, no 1, 2 or 3?

Nice rims dude. Forgive my ignorance but I can't tell the difference between the 3 pics of the car   :$  :$

Haha cheers buddy, differences is the bumper vents/ strips and also blending the plastic arch kit into the wings.

leaning toward the 3rd pic of larger vent for the bigger intercooler and also keeping the bump strips to keep it OEM-ish  :$

I vote for the 3rd pic then. Spotted them now you've highlighted the differences   :$  :ninja:

3 votes to the third pic then ;)

Just need to figure out where to mount my Cold air feed, too low down it'll get smashed to cack  (or ingest it) by the rocks when i decide to take "shortcuts" which mostly involve rally-like special stages ahaha (to put things into perspective, that bumper was mint when i got it a few years ago, first pic shows it after about….oooh 80 miles or so?)

I'm thinking of making a  dome to the shape of one of the bonnet vents, with a cut out for the air feed at the bottom?

Either way something needs sorting as even with a stock box it just gets an unbelivable amount of rubbish in there!

Oh yeah. Managed to do this to the tyres in the space of a few days, I should never have been allowed near the boost adjuster

Looks like you had some fun with them at least

Blackcircles here you come :lol::lol:

Haha yup, crappy 175s at the front and 180bhp on tap is enough to light up the tyres even with an LSD

205 section Proxes T1Rs all round should help though, some decent brakes on the cards next now the ABS is binned

No not really. Rebuilt the engine twice and spen god knows on mods. Was running about 220bhp at one point

Post

In all honesty once i've got everything fitted it should be good for around 220bhp, but that's getting awful close to the limit of the rods and even with the fifth injector mod i dont think poor old KE-JET can handle much more than that.

You're playing with fire mate if you go more than that without a 1.9 bottom end. They do shift though when on boost. Used to bring a grin to my face :)

I know a couple of guys running over 250hp on 1600 CVH's, not the most cost effective method but it can be done.

200ish will be more than enough, lest we forget it weighs as much as a baked bean tin and i've removed a fair amount of stuff. Managed to get a reading of 910kg on the scales in town with ABS modulators, central locking and most the interior ripped out, think that figure must be a bit off though.

GTInCyprus is literally a few doors down from where my RS is atm, need to get it out and "attempt" to race him

I daren't think what the intake temps are like in the summer in Cyprus.  :o  :o  :o  :o

Post

Ambient temps are around 35-45C, hence why i'm going to need a bigger intercooler
