Puf the magic 'wagen

Righty ho, the 2011 update!

After the old dud engine fiasco I'm finally getting this car back on the road. I got the car moved up to Essex so I could work on it by the wonderful person that is Mike Outhwaite.

I also purchased myself a tidy little 1.3 SPI engine

which i fitted!

For the first time in 6 months my car has a complete engine :)

So it may not run at present, but it just needs plumping and plugging back in.

Now, on to the toys!

I have these

and this

and will be picking these up on Friday. they'll be copper when I'm done with them.

All associated stuff is there too, but I need to make an inlet manifold (got the base plate already) and spend some money at Jetex to build a full stainless system.

I'm reet excited :D

I dig your steering wheel - Absolutely love your new rims aswell

Why not just stick with the yellow - Could be quite nice i think.

Also quite like the thrashy look and the chequered front/bonnet - Thumbs up!

Are those ZX6R carbs you got?

1982 - Mk1 Golf 2.0 AGG 8v - 158 HP / 202 NM

Ta everyone :)

Steering wheel came from a scrap yard - £10 well spent :D

Yellow's a no go - I don't want clashes. Copper/bronze will be nice and period I think.

The new red trumpeted carbs are GSXR600 SRAD carbs. They've been dynojetted to stage 1 so hopefully I won't need to get the jets redrilled for the car.

As I left them this afternoon:

What's awaiting them tomorrow:

LOVE the wheels…

I don't think Halfrauds rattle cans will do them the justice they deserve though!

Ta, fell in love when I saw them.

Halfords do some shoddy stuff, but in fairness their spraypaint has done me well. Certainly been better than hammerite and plastikote in my experience.

Final result tomorrow! :)

Be waiting for the final result but I think the yellow looked alright on the car.

I get what you mean, they looked much better than I expected them to. Still, they're not quite right yellow.

It's nice to finally be doing work on it again.
